Lacock

Wiltshire

A wonderful time warp village, unchanged for two hundred years, with many buildings dating back to the 13th Century. The village is almost entirely owned by the National Trust, thus preserving it’s historic character. Not surprisingly, the community have played hosts to numerous film crews over the years, providing authentic back drops to the period dramas such as Downton Abbey, and many Harry Potter films.

A must visit is Lacock Abbey, located in the centre of the village was once home to William Henry Fox Talbot, the inventor of photography.
