Bibury, on the banks of the river Coln, is a village famous for a number of sixteenth century weavers cottages known as Arlington Row. These have to be the most photographed group of cottages in the world, made famous by the fact that Henry Ford (American Car magnate) tried to buy the cottages in 1962 to demolish and rebuild at his museum in Chicago. Happily, the National trust intervened so they remain one of the Cotswolds main tourist attractions.
