A time warp Jacobean country house, built between 1607-1612 and acquired by the National Trust in 1991. The house and contents are a wonderfully preserved example of the period, undiscovered until modern times. This beautiful location has become more and more popular place to visit due to it being a filming location for Wolf Hall and The Seymours. The Gardens are also worth a visit with the middle terrace being the birthplace of the famous English sport Croquet.
